Remembering an Underwater Encounter

I am in Singapore right now for a very important business trip. While waiting at the lounge at the airport, I saw two couples with their diving gears. Oh! I suddenly remembered what I enjoy doing the most--- nature tripping, island hopping, and diving!

I want to share with you my underwater encounter in Tubatahha Reef in Palawan. I'm an experienced diver but I am really scared of sharks. Though, I have always been told that sharks are friendly but I am not convinced. Sharks are carvivorous, really. I really think I'm going to panic when I see one. But during this Tubatahha experience, we saw some sharks. I was awed. I think I'm gonna turn into a food for the shark. I wasn't able to move in front of the beast. But that was amazing. That made me gave up diving in deep sea.  Here are some pictures.

Philip, thanks for the picture.  Those corals are really very colorful. I want future divers to experience the beauty that is Tubatahha. Now I have more reasons to take care of the environment. There are colorful fishes living there.

I like to eat those fishes. I love to turn them into Sinigang na Isda.

These are sardines according to our guide diver. They seem to form a shape. I think they are following some sort of a leader. But why are sardines easy to catch? They say that sardines, when disoriented, are confused-- making them an easy prey.

Thank you for the zooming power of the cam. We captured a picture of a shark. Thank God it did not go near me. But hey! I was swimming in the same sea with a beast. That was really scary.

My diving companions.... Nice work guys. I honestly miss this underwater experience.

It is so nice to look at these creatures swimming in their natural environment. That's a sting ray. They have poisonous tails, divers said.

Seeing that pawikan is so amazing! They can live up to hundreds of years. And for a long time, they are one of the oldest creatures of evolution.

In Dampa that can be turned into Garlic Crab! I had this urge to touch that crab but as I go near, it also is slowly extending its pincers, ready to bite!

I don't know what is this called. It's a fish, though! But it looks old. But it looks friendlly.

I have this tendency to admire and to touch things. But when I'm underwater, I'm always told to avoid the colorful, the nice, and the lovely! Most probably they are the most poisonous creatures that can paralize you with the sting of their poisons.

Now, I am thinking, I think I wanna have an affair with the creatures of the sea once more. When I go back to Manila. I will start planning my open water dive. Who would want to come? Dorian are you coming? Oh I know you are afraid to the sea. You can only conquer the air!

Cheers!
