Nothingness
It is kinda weird for a busy person like me to start this day late. Oh yes, i woke up late today. I felt so tired even if I slept early last night. I overslept perhaps! With my to-do-list full, i rushed to the office without taking in some food. I feel full anyway. When I reached the office, I go through the things I have to do. Looking at them made me very tired already. Now I don't know what to do. I don't know where to start. I don't think this day will be productive. I ended up writing a blog! ha ha ha ha

Redefining Excellence
I have high hopes for my company. I want to see it in the league of the world's finest, and although I would not probably live to see this, I am committed to working toward it. It is not because of a band-wagon appeal of a world-class company. It is because the idea of excellence is inherently appealing. In time, a new term will replace the term "world class" but the anchor of excellence remains.
Today, me and my very able management team face the prospect of building a 21st Century business enterprise in a country still captive of the problems of the past. Yet this century offers a distinct opportunity to take charge of our future and carry out our mission in new ways. The business horizon has no doubt changed and we must proceed with these developments in mind.
How much closer can I bring this company to being world-class? The meaning of excellence, for one, has changed from "the quality of doing well" to "being seen to be better than others." Fierce competition is now a fixture in the world of business as global rankings and benchmarks of all sorts demonstrate. Yet the message remains clear: It is no longer enough to do one's best; to excel, one must do better than the rest. Like it or not, this is the business world we inhabit and it will be like this for some time. What does this imply for us?
If we opt to take this path, we must be able to back up our decision with demonstrable evidence of a commitment on all our parts individually and as a management team, to strive immeasurable harder than present efforts.
We are, in the end, the source of our strength. Like the sea whose expanse seems limitless, so is our collective talents and skills. Each time we extend it to its farthest reach, we realize there is a talent left to tap and push further, much like waves that lap endlessly against the shore. This is our call: to outdo ourselves at every turn until our goal is in sight. This is the driving force of my commitment!

Hectic Schedule!
I know I made a promise to be active in blogging. I'm sorry I was not able to hold on to those spoken words. Lately, my schedule did not permit me to log on this blogsite. I nearly even forgot my username and password. But thanks to the 'remember password' button Google Chrome offers!
These past few months were so tough! As I am learning the ropes of my current business, I have nearly forgotten to enjoy other things. After all, I tried to review my perspectives, why am I working so damn hard? Ha ha ha!
I am a person who does not believe in hard work. I believe in wise work-- minimum input, maximum output! Robert Greene would surely agree, as he said, "If others can do it, why do it yourself?" Now that's real conservation of energy!

When I Opened the Bible
I felt devastated when I woke up this morning. I felt terribly confused. I felt sick. But I am not really sick. I felt tired. But I have slept for 12 Hours. I just felt like dying.
But suddenly I have remembered the little things in life-- yet essential-- that I have to thank for: the air that I breathe, the sunlight, my life, etc.
I went to my veranda and smelled slightly fresh air (i thought) because it's still morning. Then I remembered what my friend told me, when you are confused or want to ask God something, pray with all your heart, then open a page in the Bible. Read. You will have the answer to what you are asking God for.
So I exactly did as told.
Lo and behold! This is what the Bible told me: "And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them."
Then I smiled. Sounds like a plan! What do you think? As Edgar Allan Poe wrote in The Cask of Amontillado , "I shall not only punish but punish with impunity."
Sounds like another plan. Smile. Then more smiles.
Cheers! This is indeed a lovely day!

All I Ask of You
One afternoon, by my office, I sat down and wept. I heard one of my most memorable music playing on the background. It brought back what I used to have-- love and be loved. Not that I don't have them anymore, it's just missing it from a person. This is a very beautiful and very meaningful song. Here goes:
ALL I ASK OF YOU
RAOUL
No more talk of darkness,
Forget these wide-eyed fears.
I'm here, nothing can harm you -
my words will warm and calm you.
Let me be your freedom,
let daylight dry -your tears.
I'm here, with you, beside you,
to guard you and to guide you . . .
CHRISTINE
Say you love me every
waking moment, turn my head
with talk of summertime . . .
Say you need me with you,
now and always . . .
promise me that all you say is true -
that's all I ask of you . . .
RAOUL
Let me be your shelter,
let me be your light.
You're safe: No-one will find you
your fears are far behind you . . .
CHRISTINE
All I want is freedom,
a world with no more night . . .
and you always beside me
to hold me and to hide me . . .
RAOUL
Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime . . .
Let me lead you from your solitude . . .
Say you need me with you
here, beside you . . .
anywhere you go, let me go too -
Christine, that's all I ask
of you . . .
CHRISTINE
Say you'll share with me one
love, one lifetime . . . say the word
and I will follow you . . .
BOTH
Share each day with
me, each night, each morning . . .
CHRISTINE
Say you love me . . .
RAOUL
You know I do . . .
BOTH
Love me -that's all I ask
of you . . .
(They kiss)
Anywhere you go
let me go too . . .
Love me -
that's all I ask
of you . .
